Sponsor Plan

SQL Saturday Dublin 2013

Last years event was a wonderful event, the sun shone down on us, over 240 people turned up to the 4 tracks and 3 sponsors sessions and feedback from delegates and sponsors was overwhelmingly positive.  We are delighted to be able to re-stage the event this year in the same venue but with increased capacity.  We will be able to make use of the entire reception foyer of the Hilton Hotel Charlemont for our sponsors and our Platinum sponsor will have the choice of being located in the bar or prominent position of their choosing.

Our programme of events will span two days.  On Friday we will have 3 preconference tracks ..... they will be announced soon, Friday night will be the speakers and sponsors dinner .... would you like to sponsor this?  If so, drop us a line, we want to have a fabulous event and are open to working with you on your ideas.

Saturday will have 4 tracks .... again we are working on the agenda, so details will be announced by the end of April, and SQL Saturday Dublin would not be complete without a great after party .... last year we had Comedian Jack Wise mingle with the crowd at an outdoor BBQ, before drawing us all inside for an exciting, interactive and memorable performance.  He was followed to the stage by a troup of Irish Dancers before the remainining delegates and sponsors took over the floor area with Jenga and other alternative games.  It was a fun environment in which to network and make industry contacts.

Making the most of your sponsorship

We encourage our delegates to proactively engage with our sponsors - without your help, this event is not possible.  Our choice of venue us very conducive to this as it is intimate and modern, sponsors will be based in the main thoroughfare where refreshments and lunch will be made available.  Last year, one sponsor provided ice-cream at the 11am break from their stand - this was a popular initiative, and another sponsor arrived with great tecchie kit and demos ..... making your stand fun to visit, is a sure winner.

How do you get business leads and contacts for post-event follow up??  There are a number of ways to do this - depending on the package you choose, we will make the names available of people who "opt-in" to be contacted by sponsors or you can run a raffle and collect delegate details at your stand.  Last year's prizes included valuable product trial subscriptions, IPODS and a Canon EOS .... presenting the prizes provided sponsors with another good moment in the spotlight.

The Raffle – Your Key to Success!

The biggest challenge with community events is capturing contact information for follow ups.

Few attendees will have business cards, and having them hand write their info often leads to a 30% or higher loss due to inability to read what they wrote!
We provide attendees with a set of pre-printed raffle tickets (see below) that will contain their name and email address; they are then able to put these tickets into the raffle box at each sponsor table to try to win a prize. This gives you 100% readability and 0% loss! It is also more effective than any other technique we’ve seen for trying to capture contact information and that includes scanning their name badge.

It's your job to make your draw interesting enough for them to give you those tickets!!
