SQLSaturday is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server.

Our Call For Speakers is officially open.  Please have your sessions submitted by 11/29/2010.

We have secured blocks of rooms at 2 hotels.  Our usual hotel did not have availablility.

Th Hilton Garden Inn - less than 1 mile from K-Force has a small block of rooms for $139/night plus taxes and parking.  Note they require that you book no later the 12/28/2010 to receive this rate.  These will be double queen rooms.  To reserve a room with the Hilton Garden Inn, click here.

The Quality Inn & Suites - less that 5 miles (1 exit) from K-Force  has a large block of rooms for $49/night plus taxes for a double queen room or $69/night for a double queen suite.  For reservations call 813.623.6000 and indicate you are part of the SQL group.

We will also be hosting a Day of Data on 1/14/2011, the day before SQL Saturday #62 in Tampa at the Itallian Club in the historic Ybor City district.  We are offering 2 all day sessions from which to choose.  For the DBAs we have Denny Cherry presenting Storage and Virtualization for the DBA.  For the BI focus We have Stacia Misner presenting a Day of BI.  The cost is only $99 per person thru 1/5/2011, after that the price goes to $109.  This price includes coffee, juice and donuts, lunch, and course materials.  Click here to register for Day of Data.

We will be hosting a Day of Data on 1/14/2011, the day before SQL Saturday #62 in Tampa at the Itallian Club in the historic Ybor City district.  We are offering 2 all day sessions from which to choose.

For the DBAs we have Denny Cherry presenting Storage and Virtualization for the DBA. 

In this session, Denny disccusses how storage can be one of the biggest bottlenecks when it comes to database perfomance and how to troubleshoot storage performance issues and tie the virtual platforms to the storage array so that you can maximize the storage performance for your SQL Servers and the virtual environment.

Denny Cherry has over a decade of experience managing SQL Server, including MySpace.com’s over 175 million user installation, one of the largest in the world. Denny’s areas of technical expertise include system architecture, performance tuning, replication and troubleshooting. Denny currently holds several Microsoft Certifications related to SQL Server as well as being a Microsoft MVP. Denny is a longtime member of PASS and Quest Software’s Association of SQL Server Experts and has written numerous technical articles on SQL Server management.

For the BI focus We have Stacia Misner presenting a Day of BI.

In this session, Stacia cover the basics of ETL using SSIS, a deeper focus on mutl-dimensional cube design using SSAS, effective report design using SSRS and an introduction to PowerPivot ad-hoc analysis.

Stacia Misner is the founder of Data Inspirations which delivers global business intelligence consulting and education services. She is a consultant, educator, mentor, and author specializing in business intelligence solutions. Stacia has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and has focused on BI over the last 10 years.
