Welcome to SQLSaturday # 65, Canada's First SQLSaturday

SQLSaturday is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. This event will be held Feb 26 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Admittance to this event is free, but we do charge a lunch fee of $15 so that we can provide a lunch - not pizza! Please register soon as seating is limited, and let friends and colleages know about the event.

A brief word on lunch. We'll be serving a full sit-down plated meal: Caesar Salad, Beef or Vegetarian Lasagna and a Warm Double Chocolate Brownie for dessert. We have had to set the cost of lunch at $15 to provide this, but hey, a full day of free training to go with it? We think that's worth a good meal.

We were a bit strategic about the date of our SQL Saturday. Because we chose the weekend before the MVP Summit in Seattle, Vancouver's first SQL Saturday can expect over 20 MVP speakers. We're very excited to showcase our fair city of Vancouver and all it has to offer to the world's best in SQL Server and BI technologies. Want to meet your favourite MVPs? Well this is your chance! Transportation to the MVP Summit in Seattle

We are aware that many of you will be traveling to the MVP Summit in Washington on the Sunday morning. We are making arrangements with the Coast Vancouver to offer a shuttle and train package to transport you to your destination. Most information to follow. Please remember that you will need a passport to make the journey. Also, there is a limit of $180 worth of goods you can bring across the border without being taxed by the US government, so be prepared if you plan on buying cases of Canadian maple syrup for your breakfast table.

The hotel is directly beside the SQL Saturday event and very convenient for all speakers and traveling attendees. The room rates are as follows: $109.00 – Standard Room Rate $139.00 – Superior Room Rate $169.00 - Executive Room Rate The group Booking Code is CCC-GFC1279. Guests are free to make their reservations using this code or by calling the hotel mentioning the conference name (SQL Saturday).
