Two Amazing Pre Cons Available...

We have two amazing Pre cons you can register for.  A Pre Con is a full day of training by a Rock Star professional.  There is a fee but it is very low compared to what would be charged elsewhere if you could find equivalent training locally.  The classes will be held from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, December 9th at Bryant University and include refreshments and lunch!  DISCOUNT!!! When registering use the discount code "pass" without the quotes to get 20% off.

Pre Con # 1:  Become a Better SQL Developer by Aaron Bertrand

In this full-day seminar, you will gain core knowledge about how SQL Server works, along with a host of information covering memory usage, the optimizer, indexes, statistics, and table design.

Most importantly, you will be exposed to an elaborate and detailed tour of T-SQL patterns and anti-patterns, many of which will enlighten or surprise you. You will also learn about default settings to override, trace flags that can help query analysis, optimizing tempdb, and how to avoid “it worked on my machine” syndrome.

Packed with sample code, live demos, and even pop quizzes, you will leave the room armed with many new insights into making your design phase more robust, your queries more efficient, and making life easier for your DBAs, fellow developers, and end users.

Pre Con # 2:  Query Tuning Using Execution Plans by Grant Fritchey

At least 80% of all database performance problems can be related directly to your T-SQL code and your data structures. This full-day workshop gets right to the heart of that issue and shows you how to identify common performance problems using the tools available to you within SQL Server.

With the problems identified, we then proceed to figure out how to address those problems using execution plans to understand the choices made by the query optimizer. You’ll learn multiple ways to capture execution plans, how to interpret them, and how to query them directly. All the examples and scripts will be immediately applicable to your systems. You can address your performance problems in order to make your T-SQL code run faster.
