March 13th Update: SQL Saturday is still happening on the 14th! The event will be much smaller than the 250 people limit for gatherings. We have plans for sanitizing surfaces as well as changing registration process to prevent many people touching others' badges, etc. Please still consider attending if you are not ill.
Greetings: Let’s greet each other with a “live long and prosper” Spock salute instead of a handshake. (Not a Trekkie? Any no-contact greeting will do.)
Schedule: Several of our originally scheduled speakers cannot travel to Victoria so the schedule is shorter than originally planned and changes should still be anticipated. Our Schedule is published on Guidebook and will be updated there as changes take place. After you download the app, launch it and download the event details by searching for "SQL Saturday 950 Victoria"
The Pac-Man Rule: SQL Saturday is not just a great day of learning, its about networking, too. Have a read about the Pac-Man Rule and on Saturday remember to leave space for another person when you're chatting.
Build your Schedule: Use the Schedule Builder to plan your day in advance. This helps us with room planning, too!
Location: The event takes place on the Lansdowne Campus of Camosun College in Victoria. We will be on the main floor of the Young Building, which is building #18 on the Campus Map
Parking: Parking on campus is $6.50 for the day. We can park in the lot marked "P1 Staff" on the Campus map.
Travelers: Here is a quick summary of travel options for getting here from Vancouver or Seattle: https://islandsql.com/2019/11/14/notes-for-travelers-to-sql-saturday-victoria/
After the event: Please join us at the Maple Room (in the Strathcona Hotel, above the Sticky Wicket) for dinner and a drink afterward! Must be 19+ for this venue.
